Summer Giveaway!

Well, here I am at 250 posts!  So why don't we have a giveaway?

We have sunshine here today, for a change, but the forecasters are already full of doom and gloom about how cold it is going to get at the end of the week.

So let's just pretend it really is Summer, shall we?

Here are a few summery little things:

Sorry, the cake is not included!  Not sure it would travel very well in the post.

It includes two cards:

and a couple of postcards

a flowery little book (lined paper) and a set of owl cards (blank)

and anything else summery I can lay my hands on in the next week.

I am happy to post anywhere.

To enter, please leave a comment on this post before 6pm British Summer Time on Tuesday 26th June.  If you're a follower as well, I'll put your name in twice.

Well, I think that's everything.  I will try and add to this, maybe even make something, so keep your eyes open.

Good luck and see you all soon!

Well, I Never!

Would you believe it?  I have Won a Giveaway!

Dear Claire at My Little Life, thank you so much!

That was definitely the best thing to happen today.  Work was so boring, only four customers; had a man round to mend the toilet, dried out the floor around said toilet, tried to do some more of Scary's bag but ran out of pink thread and of course it's Bank Holiday so nowhere is open.  Frantic phone call to friend who opens up her shop so that I can get some pink thread!  And here I am doing my blog post at gone 11pm AGAIN.

Think bed is calling.  I'll just go and have a little chat with the hamster and then I think I might have to make myself a hot water bottle!

See you tomorrow!

Present for Me!

Aren't they lovely?

I was having a little look around the blogesphere the other day and ended up on e-bay and just couldn't resist these.

I would give you a link but my computer is being exceptionally slow today and doesn't seem to want to open more than one window for me to get the link!!  Grrr!

They go from the diddiest little 2.5mm

up to a big fat 10mm and all in such gorgeous colours.

Aren't I a lucky girl?

PS  Don't forget to enter my Tea Time giveaway!

Giveaway Make - Thwarted

Today I have been thwarted.  Every possible person and thing has conspired against me to get anything done.

So here's just a quick peek at some material from my stash:

and hopefully tomorrow it will be made into something to go with my Tea Time Giveaway!

Fingers crossed!

Time for Tea Giveaway

Well, I'm all confussed and discombobulated!

I could have sworn this was my 200th post and now it's telling me its the 201st!

Oh well, hey ho, we'll do the giveaway anyway, shall we?

My first post started with cake, not a bad way to start in my opinion.

Worryingly, whilst looking back at some of my first posts, there seem to be a lot of projects that are still unfinished.

This blithering owl, for example, is still in my blanket box and is waiting to be made into something resembling a soft toy.

Hmmm.

It's coming on, I think.  Not quite satisfied with it yet but I'm getting there I hope.

So if you'd like to leave a comment or become a follower, then I'll put all your names in a little pot, shall we say next Monday 22nd August 3pm British Summer Time?

And in return, for the winner, I will gather together some little tea-related trinkets, which will definitely include these:

and anything I can lay my hands on!

I am happy for post internationally, so please have a go at my Time for Tea Giveaway!

A Typical Sunday

Well, I managed to get three teenagers out of bed before 9.00am this morning and off we jolly well trotted to our local boot sale.

We were on the hunt for Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVDs or videos!  Starfish has a new obsession and so we went with the students to hunt for them.

We came back with Series One on video and a truckload of Buffy books, so it wasn't a complete waste of time!

I also found a little something for 50p:

which will join all my other 'little somethings' in my current glass obsession.

Unfortunately, our little girl from Taiwan managed to find the High School Musical DVD and so we have had to sit through that as well!!  I say 'we' in the loosest sense.  I had to cook the tea, thank goodness, so only had to endure a minimal amount!

See you tomorrow for a giveaway as it is my 200th post.  Way hey!

Queen of the May

Hello, dear friends.  I am so sorry I have been such a naughty blogger lately.  Time seems to have disappeared into thin air!

I am pleased that Vintage Vicki and Claire from My Little Life were pleased with their giveaway prizes.

For Vicki I knitted a blue lacy scarf and bought some postcards from Country Lines in Honiton:

and for Claire I crocheted a little owl, from this pattern, from Roman Sock

and a few more postcards, but I forgot to take a picture of them.  Duh!

Isn't it funny that the two people Marathon Runner picked out of the bowl were both from Suffolk!

I also made another little owl for my owl-mad godmother, who had a birthday recently.  (Her present is wrapped in the brown parcel.)

We had a lovely moon the other day.  My camera is a bit rubbish but I managed to get a reasonable photo as Mad Child and I walked home from Guides.

Isn't it amazing that you throw something away because it doesn't flower, and then, hey presto, there it is flowering!

Aren't things supposed to rot when you put them in the compost heap?

Finally, I was reminded today of this post from last year, when the children and I went to Kingsbury May Festival in Somerset.  This year of course, Scary had better things to do, but Mad Child can still be bribed to come!

She tried a little bit of archery, and now wants to be in Robin Hood's gang.

Yes, she's still into penguins!

I think Mad Child took this one!  (There was some poor devil underneath that!)

The food was very good, lots of choice and I thought quite reasonably priced.  These were the vegetarian options

but there was also a hog roast and various other alternatives, and some very odd things that tasted a bit like doughnuts

The town band was playing in the churchyard

and a good day was had by all, even if it was a little bit cold!

I couldn't resist this.  What is it they say about owners being like their dogs???

And The Winner Is.......

Thank you girls for entering the giveaway!

I have been a very bad blogger and have somehow lost the last two days.  Don't know where they went but if anyone finds them, make good use of them!

Well, drum roll, da da da da da daaaaaaaaaa

Vintage Vicki you have won!  Please let me know your address so that I can send your prize.  However, it has to be said that I am still knitting it!

There will also be a very small consolation prize going to:

Claire, a little something will wing it's way to you if you care to send me your address.

I really hope you like your prizes!

See you all soon!

Bits and Pieces

Fancy a bun?

Not sure where this week has gone but spring has definitely sprung!

Poor Scary went to the Orthodontist this week and has to have four teeth out AND a brace to get her teeth straight!  I've heard that once they get the braces, it is quite 'cool' but at the moment she is very slowly coming to terms with it.  I think she is wondering what The Boyfriend will think about it.

What did you think of the new Dr Who then?  We thought he was excellent!  Mad Child really liked the comment "Get a girlfriend Geoff!"  Of course, we also had Ashes to Ashes and Jonathan Creek over the weekend so for us it was top notch televisual entertainment.  About time something decent was on though.

Anyway, still haven't shown you my birthday presents but it's getting a bit late now so will try and do that tomorrow.

Many thanks for all your lovely comments and I'm still working on the scarf so that hopefully it will be ready to post next Monday (have had to start it again, bah!).

See you soon.  Gotta finish my birthday chocolate before the gannets get home!  Go on, have another bun!
