A New Member of the Family

Well, we have the patter of small feet.

Four feet, don't worry!

Meet Harvey, a rescue dog, who is about a year old and is a cross between a whippet and a greyhound.

His favourite occupation at the moment seems to be following me about and banging into my legs when I stop!  He is quite jumpy and excitable and loves carrots!  At the moment, he is lying on his blanket on the couch with his head on The Runner's lap, sound asleep!

I don't think life is ever going to be the same again!

Happy Birthday Knitting Queen

Today was my very good friend's birthday, The Knitting Queen.  She is also my neighbour and the amount of times she has helped me out with emergencies, traumas, running out of ingredients and dealing with big hairy spiders, is innumerable!

So I thought a cake was in order:

Yes, the icing is a little rustic but seeing as I only had 2 hours sleep last night, I don't think I was doing too bad!

I don't know what it is that happens on Saturday nights but this is the second in the last two months that I have sat in A & E watching all the drunken louts swagger in!  Children are such a worry, aren't they?

Anyhow, back to The Knitting Queen.  I also made her this brooch:

And a box of chocolates!  Thorntons, no less.

Aren't I lucky to have such a good neighbour?
