Hello there. Yes I am still here. I don't really have any excuses. I've just been lurching from one crisis to the next, in my usual fashion but with the little time in between, I have been seduced by Facebook. Facebook games to be more precise. Farm Town in particular. Sad isn't it? Can't stop myself. First many years ago it was The Sims, followed by The Sims 2, then Train Yer Brain (or whatever it's called) on Ninentendo DS, then Animal Crossing on the WII, a little bit of Spider Solitaire thrown in for good measure and now it's Farm Town. Yes, I do play Farmville but I don't like it as much as Farm Town. Met a nice lady from Canada who has befriended me (so that I have enough neighbours!) and also a chap from Liverpool (Marathon Runner doesn't think much of this). It seems that I need some fairly minless game to play to relax. Marathon Runner watches Jeremy Kyle and Great British Menu. Yes, well, no accounting for taste (sorry if you like them)!
I have also been making a very difficult decision. I have decided to sell my campervan. This was a very difficult decision as I really love it but we only managed to get away
once last year and the van seems to be used mainly for taking garden prunings to the dump!! The girls are too big to both fit in the bed above the cab (Mad Child has grown too much!) and Scary doesn't want to come with us anywhere but is not old enough to leave behind. It is definitely something I would like to experience again in the years to come, but for the moment, spare time and money is against us. So if you know anyone who is looking for a
decrepid vintage camper van, you know who to send them to!

Now, the above was written at the beginning of the week and I didn't have time to finish it.
Since then, I'm afraid we have had something of a family emergency involving lots of sitting about in very uncomfortable hospital chairs. We are all a bit dazed but we are all OK and I hope to be back with you regularly very shortly.
Sounds like you've had a tough week - hope things improve soon.
ReplyDeleteWant to swap your camper for 6 buttons, a square of green & blacks & a piece of bluetac? Thought not - shame - hope you find it a great new home :)
Make that a bar of green & blacks and you never know, we might have a deal!
ReplyDeleteOh no, hope you are all ok, hostpitals, Bleuuuuuuuuur!

Glad to see you back--hope your crises come to a favorable close. I understand your need for mindless distraction. I've had a lot on my mind lately, too, and whenever things get too quiet, I get cripplingly anxious. So, I'm sure to have a podcast or audiobook in my ears during all the lulls. It's like putting your brain on autopilot, which is infinitely easier than trying to think of nothing at all.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are all OK. x
